Former Baron called to U.S. Men's National Team Camp
Jeremiah White's performance in Denmark impresses National Team boss Bob Bradley
Jeremiah White (Wake Forest / Lansdowne, PA) is one of 26 players who have been called into the United States’ National Team camp in preparation for the January 19 friendly against Sweden. White, who spent the 2003 season with the Ocean City Barons (then called the South Jersey Barons), helped his club AGF Aarhus earn promotion to the Danish Superliga last year and has continued to play well in his first season in the country’s top flight league. The FC Delco product is only one of three European-based players called into camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., all of which play in Scandinavian countries which are currently in the midst of their winter break.
"I’m very excited about it," said White. "This is my first call-up to the senior national team, and I expect to go in and work hard and I think good things will happen."
After a successful career at Wake Forest, White was drafted by the New England Revolution in the 2004 Major League Soccer Superdraft. Instead of joining the Revolution, he decided to ply his trade overseas which included stops in Serbia, Greece and France before landing in Denmark last season.
He has found a home at AGF Aarhus on the right side of the field, playing mostly on the wing, but occasionally starting as a striker. A recent three-game unbeaten streak has pulled the newcomers into tenth place, four points clear of the relegation zone.
