Nor'easters Host NJ Rangers Twice In Four Days

The Ocean City Nor’easters will be hosting the New Jersey Rangers twice in four days as they continue to press on towards retaining their Mid-Atlantic Championship. The Nor’easters are back on the winning path after thumping Central Jersey Spartans 5-0.

The Nor’easters and Rangers have a good history together but the in-state rivalry has not really taken off as the Nor’easters have dominated the Rangers in the past seasons. Ocean City have a record of 6-1-1 with a goal difference of 23-8. The Nor’easters handed the Rangers their first ever defeat after they entered the league in 2008, an 8-1 win. Another pinnacle game between the two franchises was in 2009 when a Nor’easters win clinched a playoff berth before Ocean City got to the PDL National Quarter Finals only to be stopped by the Chicago Fire U23’s.

This season the NJ Rangers are 3-5-1 in a rebuilding year after partnering with the LUSO Academy. This partnership could mean that the Rangers will be a force in the USL PDL Mid-Atlantic Division in the years to come.

Head Coach Tim Oswald knows that the two games in four days is hard work for the team, "With these games coming up thick and fast it is important that we can use the full depth of our squad. Especially when we are facing the same opposition within four days we will need to shake up the personnel and tactics so that we do not become obvious in our play".
