Nor'easters' midfielder Deri Corfe named to USL League Two Team of the Week
Corfe scored three goals and had two assists in two Ocean City wins last week
The Ocean City Nor'easters' top scorer Deri Corfe (Wright State / Chester, England) continued his scoring streak last week by leading the team to a pair of wins. For his efforts, Corfe was named to the USL League Two Team of the Week (Week 9).
On Friday, June 28, Corfe led the Nor'easters to a 4-3 home win over Lehigh Valley United by scoring a pair of goals (including the game-winner) and dishing out an assist. Two days later, he followed that up by creating both goals in the Storm's 2-1 home win over the Cedar Stars Rush. Corfe scored the opening goal in the 32nd minute and then assisted on Claudio Repetto's (Coastal Carolina / Genova, Italy) second half game-winner.
The article writes:
"I think Ocean City will start chanting “He scores when he wants,” in reference to Corfe because in the last two weeks it has been the case. In two games last week Corfe scored three goals and registered two assists."
Corfe, the Nor'easters' team MVP from last year, has picked up right where he left off by leading the team in scoring with nine goals and three assists. His nine goals has him ranked second in the league.
In the most recent edition of the USL League Two Top Prospects list, Corfe was ranked No. 30. It's worth noting that since the latest update of the Top Prospects list was published, Corfe has scored five goals and dished out two assists while leading the Nor'easters to a five-game unbeaten streak.
