The Ocean City Nor’easters accepted the invitation from the Ocean City Middle School to take over the gym classes for two days.
The Nor’easters taught the kids some of their skills and tricks and were encouraging the youngsters to show off some of their own skills. After the ’skill school’, the Nor’easters players who were there were drafted by teams as the Middle Schoolers were put into 4 teams in a round robin competition.
Ken Tribbett, MVP of the second round US Open Cup game vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds, was impressed with the kids attitude, "We had a lot of fun with these OC kids and it was great to see their enthusiasm for the game and this made us even more eager to help soccer grow in the area by going out and beating the Union on Tuesday night".
The Ocean City Middle School gym teacher who organized the day, Jesse Parker, told us how great the Nor’easters had been for Ocean City, "The Nor’easters organization has been fantastic to us and the school. The kids really enjoy when the players come and take over gym class for these two days. We encourage all of our kids to watch the Nor’easters games as we know how exciting and educational they can be"
