The Baltimore Bohemians came to town and disrupted the Nor’easters final home game for a second straight season, beating Ocean City 3-nil with goals from Tommy Quaranta and Kingsley Owuka.

Ocean City, NJ – The Nor’easters lost 3-0 at the hands of the Baltimore Bohemians on Saturday night in America’s Greatest Family Resort, but if not for some poor luck and several missed chances, the score line could have been very different.

Ocean City’s savvy midfielders and forwards took the game to the Bohemians early, as Frank Tweneboa, Zoncher Dennis, and Birnis Adames combined to generate scoring opportunities in the 4th, 9th, and 19th minutes, flying down the wings to beat Bohemian defenders only to have shots saved by keeper Tyler Buck.

The Storm created their best chance of the first half in the 24th minute when Paco Navarro’s blast made its way past Buck but was cleared off the Baltimore line at the last possible moment by Josh Yaro.

The Nor’easters defense looked unorganized and struggled to find a rhythm for much of the game, but made key last-ditch tackles to preserve the 0-0 score line until a 35th minute corner kick. Baltimore broke free on a Tommy Quaranta corner that deflected off an Ocean City defender and off the hands of goalkeeper Borja Angoitia and across the line. 1-0 Baltimore at the half.

The Boh’s would score their next goals in the 52nd and 55th minutes, all but cementing their victory. The 52nd minute goal from Tommy Quaranta came after a crisp 1-2 from assist man Marquez Fernandez. Three minutes later, Ryan Tuck threaded a long distribution through the Ocean City defense to Kingsley Owuka who found the back of the net and gave the Bohemians a 3-0 lead.

Alec Golini came on for Paco Navarro in the 59th minute for the Nor’easters looking to spark a comeback, and Birnis Adames responded in the 72nd and 73rd minutes on unlucky shots that missed the right post by inches and bounced off of the woodwork, just missing opportunities to help the Nor’easters climb back into the match.

Zoncher Dennis and Frank Tweneboa gave everything they could in the waning minutes of the match but were subbed off to a loud ovation in the 82nd minute, replaced by Juan Munoz and Emmanuel Temeh. Giancarlo Granese rounded out the substitutions in the 85th minute, replacing Tyler Bellamy.

The Nor’easters were upended by the Bohemians 3-0 despite the strong play of Paco Navarro, Frank Tweneboa, Zoncher Dennis, and Birnis Adames who would have combined to score 4 or 5 goals if not for an unlucky bounce or two, and shots clanging off the post. Nevertheless, another exciting Ocean City Nor’easters season culminated at the Beach House in front of a strong home crowd at America’s Greatest Family Resort on Saturday night.
