Ocean City Gunning for Third Straight Win

The Nor’easters will look to earn their fifth victory in six games on Wednesday against the 2-7-1 Euro, a side that The Storm upended 3-1 at home two weeks ago.

Ocean City, NJ – FA Euro were founded in Brooklyn, NY at the start of the 2013 PDL season. The newest members of the Mid-Atlantic Division, the red, black and white Euro play at the Aviator Sports Center in Brooklyn. FA Euro finished the 2013 season in 6th place in the Mid-Atlantic Division and with a 2-7-1 record, sit in 7th place in this year’s table.

The fourth place Nor’easters, positioned at 6-4-1 with 19 points, are just five points behind this season’s  top two squads, Reading United and the Long Island Rough Riders. Picking up a road victory and three more points on Wednesday night would be crucial to keeping The Storm’s playoff hopes alive with just three games remaining on the schedule.

Ocean City is 2-0-0 all-time against FA Euro, winning both matches by a combined tally of 9-2. Michele Pataia, Billy McConnell, and Zoncher Dennis all scored against the Euro in Ocean City on June 29th, and Man of the Match Frank Tweneboa assisted on two goals. Frank earned a national PDL Team of the Week Honorable Mention accolade for his breakout performance.

The Nor’easters will need to account for defender Jonah Williams, who scored the Euro’s lone goal on the 29th, and top goal-scorer Jonathon Watkin, who has scored twice this season, on Wednesday night to secure a critical road victory.
