Plumhoff Named to PDL Team of the Week

Four Noreasters recognized by PDL

Plumhoff, captain McLaws and Z. Dennis all recognized by the league for performances against Northern Virginia and NJ LUSO Parma.

Ocean City, NJ - The Premier Development League named its Team of the Week on Thursday and four familiar faces were honored among the top players from last week’s action. Jason Plumhoff, who found the back of the net against NJ-LUSO Parma and Northern Virginia also added an assist against Northern Virginia on Saturday, was named to PDL Team of the Week. Plumhoff, who comes from Ellicott City, Maryland and played collegiately at La Salle University, earns this award in his second season with the Nor’easters.

Captain Shawn McLaws, who also is in his second season as a Nor’easter hails from Edmond, Oklahoma and plays his college ball at Coastal Carolina and midfielder Zoncher Dennis, from Swarthmore, Pennsylvania and Mt. Saint Mary’s, were recognized as Honorable Mention by the PDL. This is Shawns second Honorable Mention and Zoncher’s first of the season. McLaws anchored much of the Ocean City attack coming from the back against Northern Virginia while Zoncher netted two goals in the first Nor’easters 3-2 road victory of the PDL campaign.

Forward Ben Maurey, was recognized last week for his game-tying, 89th minute goal against Long Island, assisted by McLaws. Maurey is from Downington, Pennsylvania and plays collegiately at Brown University. This is Maurey’s first season as a Nor’easter.

The Ocean City Nor’easters congratulate these honorees for their outstanding achievements on and off the field.
