OCEAN CITY, NJ - For the first time in the history of the club, the Ocean City Nor’easters will host an inter-squad preseason match before the PDL campaign kicks off. The game emulates the format exhibited in college football spring games, and like a spring game, this will allow fans to come out and see the players in action before the first regulation PDL match for the Nor’easters.

Former players and assistant coaches John Fogarty, and Under-20 assistant coach, Matt Taphorn, will be selecting the teams for the match at Carey Stadium. While the rosters have not been officially announced, each team is guaranteed to have several talented players with great promise.

Players to watch in this matchup and throughout the season for the Nor’easters include young players that have chosen to return and some new faces that will be on the pitch for the team this year. Pfeiffer University forward, Nathan Regis, is poised for an excellent season. “He has the skill to put the ball in the back of the net at both a collegiate and PDL level,” said Nor’easters General Manager Kevin Nuss.

Drexel midfielder, Dakota Peterson, is returning to the club for a second season.  “Dakota makes everyone around him better,” Nuss said.  “He is a true 2-way midfielder that covers a lot of ground and unifies the midfield.” Nuss said. “He makes everyone around him better.”

Portuguese sensation, Martim Galvao, will certainly make this side better.   “He has had a lot of attention focused on him,” Nuss said. “We are excited to have him as a part of the team.”

The team has added several defenders who will help form a dangerous backline.  Daniel Nimmo will be a strong addition to the side that he lands on this Saturday.  “The 6’4” center back is a great asset,” Nuss said.  “He not only has the size, but plays well with the ball at his feet.”

Fraser Colmer is yet another talented defender coming to Ocean City.  Kevin Nuss said that, “he has had excellent touch on the ball and has great college and PDL experience.”

Whether it be new or returning players, there will be a high level of play exhibited in the first ever Blue and Orange game.  It will be used as a preview for the coaches to get a look at the squad for the upcoming season.  This event will also be exciting for the fans.  They can meet the team at several events before the game and they will also have the chance to get player autographs immediately following the match.

The first ever Blue & Orange Game brings excitement to the club, players, and fans alike.  The team rosters will be announced during the uniform release at Buffalo Wild Wings.  Both teams will be feature incredibly talented players, as well as players with bright futures ahead of them.
