The Ocean City Nor'easters will kick off the club's 23rd season on Saturday night when they travel north to Brooklyn to take on FA Euro New York. The game will be the Nor'easters' 17th season as a member of newly-renamed USL League Two (formerly Premier Development League).

Saturday's game will take place at Poly Prep in Brooklyn, NY with kickoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Fans unable to make the trip can watch a live stream of the game.
 


FA Euro New York is back in the Mid-Atlantic Division for the third year in a row. The club made it's USL League Two debut in 2013 and last year, they finished in fifth place for the second year in a row (their best finish in the club's short history).

The Nor'easters have played FA Euro eight times in team history and have won all eight meetings, outscoring them 22-5. Last year, Ocean City swept FA Euro with a 2-1 road win, and a 5-0 home win that saw Alex Rose score a hat trick and earn league Player of the Week honors.

The Storm enter Saturday's contest having won three straight season openers, the longest season-opener win streak in club history.

The Nor'easters will be led by Kevin Nuss who was named head coach last week after Tim Oswald stepped down due to a medical concern. Nuss, who also holds the position of sporting director, was part of the Nor'easters organization in a number of roles from 2011-16, from assistant coach, to associate head coach to general manager. After taking a job elsewhere, Nuss, rejoined the club this year and was in charge of recruiting players. Nuss is coming off a successful year as head coach of the men's program at Camden County College. 

The Nor'easters prepared for Saturday's season with an exhibition game this past Tuesday. Ocean City defeated NPSL club FC Monmouth 2-0 in a game played at Carey Stadium ("The Beach House"). Last year's team MVP Deri Corfe (Wright State / Chester, England) scored for the Nor'easters, and Monmouth also added an own goal to help the cause. All three of Ocean City's goalkeepers saw action as Joseph Boehm (Saint Joseph's / Colleyville, TX), Jan Hoffelner (St. John's / Frankfurt, Germany) and Keegan Meyer (High Point / Silver Spring, MD) all combined for the shutout.
