Nor'easters defender Daniel Nimmo named to PDL Team of the Week

Scottish defender helped Ocean City shutout Baltimore

The Ocean City Nor'easters kicked off the 2016 Premier Devleopment League (PDL) season in style with a 3-0 road win over the Baltimore Bohemians.

A big reason why the Nor'easters were able to earn a shutout in the season opener was the play of defender Daniel Nimmo (Campbellsville-KY / Lithigow, Scotland). He was the anchor of the defense that made life easier for goalkeeper Logan Ketterer (Bradley / Racine, Wis.) who only had to make two saves to earn a clean sheet in his Ocean City debut.

As a result, Nimmo was named to the PDL Team of the Week.

"Nimmo was a driving force for the full 90 in our shutout win over Baltimore," said Nor'easters head coach Tim Oswald. "He is a great vocal leader and someone that prides himself on clean sheets. He is a tremendous asset to our back four. His recognition on the PDL Team of the Week is well deserved."

Nimmo comes to the Nor’easters as a freshman from Campbellsville University in Kentucky. Nimmo originally hails from Lithgow, Scotland and played in all 21 games for Campbellsville this past season. The defender has a touch for an offense in addition to being a stellar defensive presence with four goals and an assist past year for Campbellsville. At 6’4 and 190 lbs, Daniel will have a large presence on the Nor’easters’ backline this season.
