The 1992 SYL ODP Natinal Select Team look set to go on a trip to either Switzerland or Germany to play against international competition. Last season Glenroy Chapman from the Barons U16 team went with the 1991 ODP team to Germany to experience the European style of play.

We had to get an interview with our star center-mid so we posed him a few simple questions.

1. What was the level of play down at the ODP Select Camp?
GT: "The competition down there was intense and good. All of the players had played at high-level camps before and knew what they were doing."

2. What part of your game do you think impressed the scouts?
GT: "I think what impressed the coaches was the way I keep the ball moving from side to side and switching the fields, I tried to keep my touches simple and not complicate things."

3. What did you think of the overall SYL National ODP camp expereince?
GT: "I thought the camp was great and I loved the expierence. It’s nice to go and play with high-level competition and still have fun at the same time."

4. Did you get to Nutmeg fellow Baron and team mate Terrell White at the camp?
GT: "Well, Terrell was on my team for the camp, but in the dorms I got him a few times."

5. Your team may be going on a trip to Europe, what are you most looking forward to about the trip?
GT: "I’m looking forward to playing against there high-level competition and how different they play compared to us. I’m also looking forward to seeing the players I made it with."

Thanks to Giovanni for taking the time to do my interview. Everyone involved with the Barons organization extends our congratulations to you on your acheivements. We hope you have only just begun.
